I think they may be trying to pull the same approach she has been using in the US these past few years. They probably want to remind the public how great of a performer she is by having her perform classics / tributes / dance routines on award shows. It's actually smart, and it will set her up nicely for the Spanish album.
I don't think she truly needs to do this because most people i know are already aware of how great of a performer she is, but since her last Spanish album was so far ago it's nice that they're trying to make sure everything goes well with it!
