A lot of moderates seem happy to take a more progressive/to the left stance right now. Many have endorsed Keith Ellison and it looks like he'll get it.

The cynic in me says they're doing it say that they can reclaim the party after the potential disaster that is 2018.Moderates know 2018 isn't looking good for the Dems and could go really bad - it doesn't surprise me they're backing away and giving Sanders/Warren/Ellison the reigns.

After trumps presidency I don't think many working class folks are going to respond to 'our bring your jobs back'. Many will no longer believe that message. We have to start telling them the truth that their jobs just are'nt coming back and we have to start offering them better solutions like training for new jobs. Hillary tried to go this route but she quickly abandoned the message once she got flack for it

No she didn't. That was the whole point of the Al Gore rally.

I certainly think she was on the right track and that message will likely hit home next cycle. I want Dems to OWN it. See I think we need a candidate who is great at explaining that message to the public (man Bill was the best at this). Tell them why those jobs aren't coming back (many of them know their jobs aren't coming back) and make investing in new jobs along with training as the central theme of their campaign.

'A New Way' or something along those lines can be the campaign slogan.

This is partly why I don't want Berine to run again because I think hitting home the same message of trade being the boogie man and why the middle class is struggling will be an outdated message come 2020. It's time for us offer those working class folks a bridge to the other side.
