The episode could've been 10 minute long honestly. Only the final scene was good, the rest was very meh. The last 10 minutes are still better than the Hotel and Coven finales though.

Literally ANYTHING can seem like it has a deep meaning if you force yourself to believe it; look at all the convoluted theories people come up with all the time as a result. I don't think AHS lacks symbolism in its entirety; I think it's had plenty, and themes have been far more clear in the first three seasons than any of the last 3. I just don't think the way it's executed, especially in the finales, is the best way to make that point if it's what he's really going for, because it doesn't come off that way. Him having 4-5 different TV segments in one episode doesn't mean "OMG he's so clever he's showing us the THEME of overexposure and the media's obsession!"; it's OTT and extra, because if that was his point, he didn't need to make it so messy. Thinking all that doesn't make someone closed-minded; it just means Ryan Murphy sucks at his job sometimes.

idk... i really liked all the shows within the finale episode, it's like a little insight into their world and their media.

Wait, I'm confused on one part of the episode when that English girl is vlogging. She said they aired Return To Roanoke despite the title card in Episode 6 explicitly saying it was found footage and never aired?

That's one of the main reasons I hated a lot of it, minus the Lana Winters and Flora & Lee interaction at the end.

Oh my God, that ending was a mess. It felt more like a cliffhanger than an end of a season knowing AHS.

I thought we were going to see the ghosts of the Audrey, Shelbey, Matt, Rory and the others. We didn't see ****.

Other than that the episode was good. Queen Lana Winters slaying as always.

And I was expecting to see Matt Bomer tbh. Nnnnn.

I feel like most of this episode was not needed. I'd rather the episode have started with the Lana interview, giving a quick rundown of the trial and Lee's one on one interview. From that point it would have been better if the cannibal hillbilly would have kidnapped Flora forcing Lee to go back to the woods/house. Leading to the last few minutes of the episode which I loved.

Just felt more like a filler episode than a season finale. Rest of this season was excellent though.

Asylum > Muder House = Roanoke > Coven > Hotel > Freak Show

The ending was a bit Dark Water, but it was also the only way Lee could "redeem" herself. That being said, Flora deserved Taissa's death with Priscilla as her buddy.

Who would of thought Ryan would still be able to ruin the best season of the series with the final episode. I am so disappointed. It was so rushed and all over the place; honestly what the **** was the point of that ghost hunting show?? The focus really should of been on Lee and her interview with Lana and then have the rest shown through flash backs and flash forwards. Roanoke remains on par with Asylum as the best season however.
