Franken is one of the few people in the Democratic party that seems to be liked and respected by both groups.

He has a respectable history of legislation, but he also have those baggage bills like the Crime Bill he voted for.

Now, my preference for 2020 is Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Al Franken, and either Kamala Harris or Maggie Hassan, depending on how both women fair in the US Senate. I want Joe to come back and give it a go, if HRC wasn't the one, Joe was my next hope. If Bernie can make a run at 77 years old, Joe can too in 2020. Just keep that health in order, JB.

Sorry, I'm not here for Bernie or Liz, but if they are who's selected in the primary, I'll be behind them. I'm not above putting my preference aside to what a majority of the party wants, so long as they hit the main points, and usually they do.

I really hope Kander can bounce back and get some other elected position in 2018 to make a run in 2024. He's one of the young promising politicians in the party that we must see come to fruition. He better be a speaker at the 2020 convention, that's all I know

Hillary targeted racism more explicitly and had an established, working relationship with black people and politicians despite her numerous flaws (superpredators for example). Bernie didn't have that at all; most of his record come down to marching in a civil rights protest and then retreating to Vermont for how long and not really being around black folks. Of course all he really understand is white working class. And we can talk about Nina Turner and Cornel West all day but Hillary's black outreach was far better. Bernie only managed to captured 51% of black millennials despite their entire older family likely siding with Hillary? That's almost half and half for two candidates.

The problem with Bernie's message is that he seems to think that economic is the only key important factor and a lot of people do not subscribe to that. This "we will not allow racism, sexism, xenophobic business with Trump" is pretty empty when he basically agreed immediately to work with him but took months to even give a half-hearted endorsement of Hillary.

Now don't get me wrong, Bernie can lead the progressive wing and continue to inspire millennials but we need someone else who can carry his ideas and work with more people than Bernie could.

Bernie isn't even a Dem. We need a true Dem. leader. Not someone who's going to jump on and off the ship whenever it benefits him/her. HRC should have chosen a better running mate. Going the safe route obviously was a mistake. And she waited entirely too long to try and energize the black community. These last minute concerts were pointless. There was no fervor in getting her elected. It was all "vote for her so he doesn't win, but I hate them both."

Who cares about the "integrity" and the "values" of the Democratic Party? Y'all need to swallow your pride and do what it takes to win, obviously there is something fundamentally wrong with the way it is now that is driving wwc and millennials away. Look at how many democratic stronghold counties flipped this election.
We've seen from this election that the party cannot rely solely on minorities and women.
Cory Booker as VP would not have won her the election.
