Franken is one of the few people in the Democratic party that seems to be liked and respected by both groups.
He has a respectable history of legislation, but he also have those baggage bills like the Crime Bill he voted for.

You know? I could get down with Al Franken in 2020, as POTUS or Veep. Now, my preference for 2020 is Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Al Franken, and either Kamala Harris or Maggie Hassan, depending on how both women fair in the US Senate. I want Joe to come back and give it a go, if HRC wasn't the one, Joe was my next hope. If Bernie can make a run at 77 years old, Joe can too in 2020. Just keep that health in order, JB.
Sorry, I'm not here for Bernie or Liz, but if they are who's selected in the primary, I'll be behind them. I'm not above putting my preference aside to what a majority of the party wants, so long as they hit the main points, and usually they do.
I really hope Kander can bounce back and get some other elected position in 2018 to make a run in 2024. He's one of the young promising politicians in the party that we must see come to fruition. He better be a speaker at the 2020 convention, that's all I know
