Madonna and her team trying to recapture lightning in a bottle after Confessions is what directly lead us to career lows like the crap half (sorry Alan) of HC and the entirety of MDNO. Thankfully queen was smart enough to look towards the front half of her career for inspiration with Rebel Heart. Confessions is great for what it is, but let it be in the past.

Rebel Heart is definitely a step up in that most of it feels more natural and there's a great thread of IDGAF running throughout the album. She's working with anyone she wants to work with, she has hedonistic songs, deep songs, she's cocky, she's unsure of herself, sexy, angry, romantic, resolute; the album's sequencing can give you whiplash but that attests to how many moods and textures and themes it has to offer.
Hey thanks for the few who noticed New Zealand's earthquake lol, it was pretty traumatic but I'm fine - no work for the week cause my work building (the city council ) is a mess.
Yesterday was horrible cause there were like "moderate" 5-6 sized shocks literally every 15 mins, apparently there's been over 800 earthquakes since the 7.5 that rocked everyone out of bed. Anyway I'm kinda sad we're now in future pages but... oh well, it was a cute wee period of reminiscing.
I feel like we all underrate the RH Tour, it sooooo amazing. Praying the DVD does it justice and isn't an over-edited mess.

What's always made The Rebel Heart Tour special for me is that it's so sharply divided between her early material and the album she was promoting. Aside from a small handful of songs, the clear focus when it came to classics was on 83-87. And then a ton of Rebel Heart. The giddy years of her rise juxtaposed with a seasoned, been-through-it-all veteran stance.
What's always made The Rebel Heart Tour special for me is that it's so sharply divided between her early material and the album she was promoting. This. It's pretty amazing hearing songs that I heard as a child, live, sung by the original singer almost two decades later (cause I'm 24). It's surreal, and I remember how much of a crowd fave "True Blue" was. I didn't realize it was so beloved! But it was! Was sad to see everone just sitting and blinking at Living for Love, Bitch I'm Madonna and literally every other song, but oh well.

Guys, I went to this Madonna Birthday party this summer and they played what I think was a live version of La Isla Bonita and it had pauses in the lyrics after each line but the instrumental kept going on there too. I looked at the first few videos that came up on youtube but couldn't find this version, does any of you happen to know which one was it?
