Nnn she was purged in that primary. Two of her pledged super-delegates even ended up dying mysteriously before they could vote.
It was a very bitter primary. If anything, backing the long-time democrat over the independent is more fair.

Midwest Roots and has an ability to bring back the white working class former Democrats that other Coastal Democrats lack. ( Harris and co are going to struggle here)

Undeniable Liberal credentials.

Franken is one of the few people in the Democratic party that seems to be liked and respected by both groups.

He has a respectable history of legislation, but he also have those baggage bills like the Crime Bill he voted for.

HRC tried to rally the POC community far too late. There is no trust here. People were voting for her just to keep trump out, and we see how that worked. This just goes to show Dems. that if they want the POC vote, they need to do more than pander during the election cycle.

And the polls ALL lied. I'm starting to think it was never in the cards for her. Like many have said, the need for some groups to see a white man in the WH again overshadowed all common sense.

In hindsight, Hillary (although I supported her) was just the wrong candidate. This was the most unconventional election ever and a socialist Senator from Vermont trailed by her in primary delegates by not much. I agree that it's unclear whether people would have embraced Bernie in the general, but I think it would've been a risk worth taking if the DNC weren't corrupt and decided to run with him. He could have unified people against Trump because he actually had an anti-establishment message and his supporters were intensely committed to him. The Clinton/Kaine ticket was overall very weak and they didn't do anything to convince people why they should elect them, they just told people why not to vote for Trump. Even if she had won, it would still be by slim margins in every swing state and that's way too close for comfort against a tyrannical demagogue.

You all paid attention to inaccurate polling that oversampled the democratic vote and didn't consider the bradley effect.

I don't think Hillary's platform was weak at all. I think it was weakened. Her policies were great which is why her polling numbers increased during the debates but decreased whenever her scandals were mentioned. Her platform was weakened by all the scandals, smears and controversies. Then came Comey's letter and completely lost her white suburban women to the ***** grabber.

it's true that the Obama administration did not do enough for the poor but I feel like a large reason for that was Republicans obstructing Obama's policies in Congress (like his plans to bring jobs to middle America by allocating funds in the budget to infrastructure)

not true at all the situations were not even similar at all
in 2008 the DNC was an unbiased arbiter of the Democratic primary and did not try to tip the scale in anyone's favor - despite the fact that the Chairman of the DNC in 2008 was Nancy Pelosi, a close personal friend of Hillary Clinton's

in 2008 they chose the candidate with more enthusiasm and momentum behind them - instead of the candidate that they felt had "paid their dues to the party" - and that's why we won
