So the A capella intro in the film version of Freedom wasn't planned.
Quote:
She is an artist for the ages. There was one moment when it was super late and we were all tired; we had been at it for days. Her playback wasn't working, so she decided to just go ahead and sing a cappella. So I’m standing there with like 50 people listening to Beyonce sing out into the middle of the night. It was bone chilling! I mean, the hairs on everybody’s arms raised up. She can sing, and is the hardest working woman I have ever been around.
I always cringe when she says the first line. It's especially awkward when I'm in the shower with music on shuffle and rocket starts to play.
The first line is one of the best lyrics in the song AND Rocket is one of the best songs on ST to have come on while in the shower (ST is one of my go-to shower albums dd).
Bottom of ST would be Superpower, followed by Pretty Hurts, then Heaven/Jealous.
Don't @ at me for Jealous, it's a great song but it really doesn't stand out on the album. It was the most forgettable part of the VMA medley too, it's the transition to Blow that saved it.
I'd be soo pressed. Diane is a terrible writer and literally gave her one of her worst songs (IWH). No one is here for her clichés, pathos filled, radio-filler balads
