I reckon a lesbian would be better received than a gay (depending on the "gayness", I guess). Like I could never see anyone as "gay" as I am being president but if they were less so they'd have a much better shot than a lesbian.

How many TIMES do I need to say this - Bernie DIDN'T GET MINORITIES IN THE PRIMARY. What makes you think that would change? He NEEDS minority turn-out. The numbers just aren't his favor otherwise - with one "socialist" catchphrase Trump would DESTROY him.

The DNC decided to hold only six debates during the 2016 Democratic Party primary season (eventually increased to nine), far less than 2004 and 2008..

Minority voters had little chance to get familiar with Bernie and his policies, but Clinton was well known to them.

Many people voted for the candidate that they were most familiar with. That is one big reason Bernie didn't get minority voters in the primaries. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have got their votes after a full election campaign against Trump.

It's going to be difficult for anyone against Trump is 2020 unless Trump really screws up.
Bernie for 2020, but I'm not sure after that.

The Dems need to get some young ones ready for 2024.

Nope...not in the short term at least. The Dem's bet all their cards on having the first female president, and didn't bother to groom the younger generation of Democrats. Oh well.

Which is why I personally believe that Trump will only serve 1, four year term as president...it will be fun to watch, and a kii for Trump when all the GOPers wanting to run in 2020 have to kiss the king's ring to get his endorsement.

That also insures that Trump doesn't go out a loser since he wouldn't be running again.
