for you and any other high school students: this can be a great option. i know in virginia if you transfer from community college you actually get priority admission to other colleges. this isn't /always/ the best idea because it can delay making connections (and you might be really lonely if you're a junior that doesn't know anyone. seriously don't underestimate how bad of an effect going through serious sadness can have on your grades) but it can save you a lot of money and make it easier to get into certain schools.
in the end, it can come down to specifics based on your situation, but it's always an option to be considered.
