Didn't Bernie poll better than her amongst Muslim Americans (they basically handed him that Michigan win) and Native Americans + Native Hawaiians than Hillary?
I thought his Asian America numbers were good too, I think.
The idea that Bernie would only attract white voters always felt particularly unfair / posturing by Clinton's campaign. He wasn't a white nationalist candidate. He preached issues of social justice and change (I mean, he was still fighting issues on the pipeline even when Dems were silent about it during the election).
It didn't add up that he could pick up people of color who were abandoned by both parties (this extends to why he did very good amongst ALL races of millennials) if his message was explicitly white-centric like Clinton the the DNC always claimed.
Of course he'd have to work hard to gain Latino/Black voters' trust, but because they're extremely loyal, their loyalties were to Clinton, and Clinton+the DNC told them he was nothing but an awful outsider who was trying to discredit their coalition.
The DNC resented him so much yet even having him as her VP could have changed the outcome it feels like. They were SO focused on their 'winning formula' that they ignored the changing cultural attitude around politics as a whole, SMH.
