Arizona and Georgia were closer than they have been since the 90s, even Texas. North Carolina was the only Southern state where black turnout was lower this time, I wonder why.

What was the turnout like compared to previous elections? Like, were Arizona and Georgia closer because a lower number of votes were cast in general or because the minority turnout was bigger than usual?

Just accept it, Hillary and the DNC screwed up. In an election cycle where many people were rebelling against the establishment, she was the ultimate establishment candidate.

I just checked Texas and the Trump/Romney got nearly the same amount of votes (4.6m/4.5m respectively) but Clinton got over half a million more votes than Obama (3.8m/3.3m).

Cities have the highest CONCENTRATION of people. Even if most of them have heavy liberal populations, they still have significant number of conservatives. Note that even in Massachusetts, only 60% voted for Hillary.
That difference is offset by the rural areas being almost predominantly conservative.
They basically cancel each other out. Just look at the popular vote

Overall turnout was only down in Arizona by a 2 points 75% vs 2008 record (with local hero McCain 77%), but I'm optimistic because the gap between The Don and Hillary was lowered to around 5% this year so I believe it's more about interest from new groups than disinterest in the election. They're still counting ballots in one of the most populous counties. We'll have the full receipts by this weekend to make a true comparison.

Comey's letter is what did her in. It instantly turned off many voters who were just tuning in to the election. Then his letter that cleared her ended up encouraging more of Trump's supporters to show up to stick it to Hillary.
Enough. Debbie was to blame for many issues, but so was Sanders and the bitter primary that he kept up "for the sake of the people". Yeah well the people just got rekt.
I mean I don't blame him. It's clear that even he thought Hillary would have beat Trump so he overplayed his hand by wanting to empower his movement at the cost of putting down Hillary a bit.
It was also the polling. She planned her events based on the polls like any candidate would, and she ended up going to Arizona and Georgia and wasting her time. By the time Comey's letter came out, they realized she was in trouble in the dust belt and tried to fix it but it was too late by then.
The pollsters failed her.
She also messed up a bit here and there. That deplorables comment was unnecessary (she was already under scrutiny for anything). She didn't call out Trump more. Her #ImWithHer slogan reminded people that she's a woman. etc..
So no it wasn't just Debbie. It was many things, and nobody's fault specifically.
**** if she had won we wouldn't even be discussing this now. It's normal to dissect the one who fails and be overly critical. Trump ****ed up far more but was rewarded for it apparently.
Even if she had just nudged out Trump in the few key states where he only won by very small percentages, it still would've been uncomfortably close. She should've, and could've, been leading him by millions of votes because he was the least qualified and most disastrous candidate ever. There was a very severe lack of enthusiasm to actually go out and vote for her and the low turnout had to do with the corruption surrounding the campaign. The DNC did nothing to quell the anti-establishment fire that's been burning for 18 months, they only made it worse. Comey definitely did some very late harm, but at the same time, it wasn't the first time people were hearing about the email scandal. Given all of the Clinton scandals of the 90's, they had already by then formed a negative opinion about her trustworthiness. It shouldn't be used as a scapegoat to ignore all the other factors as to why she lost.
Speaker of Arizona, I think that lady that caused long lines for everyone in the primaries is out. I remember it took people 3 hours in the heat to vote and when she held a press conference the public was about to come for her head

I've already stated before that Hillary would've never gotten the majority of Johnson's votes. Libertarians aren't liberals.
Are you kidding? The Libertarian ticket got 0.99% last election and 3.24% this election and most of them this election were millennials which isn't usual for libertarians.
Stop trying to create your own universe. Those were protest voters. Even Bernie had to go on TV and address his fans to tell them to stop voting Libertarian
