I think this was a wake up call for democrats not to get complacent and actually head to the polls. When people lose their health insurance, when the economy crashes again, when Trump can't deliver on his promises, etc people might finally realize their mistake.
Most of the people who voted for him will still support him because "he's not a liberal" (kii even though he is) but I doubt most of the democrats who voted for him in blue states will still be there for him in 4 years. For a lot of voters this was a "take a chance" election and if he fails to deliver, there's no doubt a lot of those people will feel conned.
We can't get complacent though.
