Honestly, if Trump wins, I don't think it will really affect me, personally. While I am gay, I'm a white male. The worst he might be able to do to me is repeal gay marriage, but I'm not a fan of marriage, so I don't really care about it.
The reason I care so deeply about this election, is because I care about OTHER people. I care about families that might get ripped apart by Trumps anti-immigration policies. I care about people in Syria trying to escape with their lives, and not being able to. I care about the LGBT youth that might get sent to concentration camps to be "converted" to heterosexuality. I care about women having the right to decide what to do with their own bodies.
These, and many other terrible things, are all VERY possible to happen under a Trump presidency. That's why I'm supporting Hillary, who obviously has her faults, but at the end of the day, she is a MUCH better human being that actually cares about the humans in America.

I really get this perspective. Like, I think one of the most important questions you can ask yourself when you prepare to vote is "who will cause the least amount of harm to the least amount of people?" The GOP's attitudes towards POC, women, LGBT+, immigrants, and Muslims—plus Donald's personal treatment of veterans, POWs, the disabled, and others makes it absolutely obvious who has a greater capacity to harm the American population.
The defining difference between the two parties is that one offers inclusiveness and understands that different people have different experiences and face issues unique to their community. I think that this is crucial considering the direction America is inevitably heading in (total gay equality, numeric majority POC population).
