However, Anti-politics trends have been surging all throughout western democracies. Looking at Europe is a good sign, besides Brexit which was heavily influenced by Terrorism, other "Anti-system" parties have surged in Spain, France, Germany, belgium, etc. Regardless, these parties haven't managed to surpass a certain barrier due to most people regularly not wishing to tie themselves to extremes. There's a clear distinction between the US and European systems though. In Europe we have parliamentary democracies based on a plurality or parties, which means that if you don't like one right-wing party you'll go to another.

In the US you only have one right-wing party to choose. This leads to all people on the right wing - though many less enthusiastically - voting for that one party. Because the 'intellectual' part of the right wing joins the anti-intellectual, the anti-intellectualist part is essentially legitimised (like when David Cameron had doubts about the EU, or when Boris Johnson joined the Brexit campaign). When that happens the right-wing has the chance to become the biggest party.

That's the scariest scenario for the future. The US is blessed with a big minority population but the next time, when a very extreme candidate who voices his opinions in a better manner becomes the Republican candidate, he has a good shot at becoming president unless Hillary has an extremely good first term.

Well, there's a higher variety of parties in Europe but that still doesn't take away from the fact that these parties just don't seem to generate a big majority all for themselves, or at least a governing force.

I do think someone with Trump's rethoric BUT a better overall behavior and communication skills would have won this EASILY.

He still could win, but I just haven't seen realistic evidence that he has a clear path to victory.

2008 is when Obama captured that vote, 2012 he lost it by some percentage points but never had a team on the ground that year like Hillary did this year. Hillary's coming for that Nebraska vote

She doesn't need it to get over 270 per se, but it will cut Trump's chances even more.

There is nothing wrong with an outsider becoming President.

We've already had a Trump before in the past - yeah, people rate him pretty highly, but he also committed genocide and murdered millions of Native Americans with the Trail of Tears. And that was his proudest accomplishment (you'd think keeping the union from entering civil war would have been but alas). King Andrew Jackson was a tyrant so it's not the best look.

Yes, she's had a team there for ages and Bernie went there this week to crank up the heat. She also has big money for the GOTV: staffers, buses, ads. The House seat there is already controlled by a Democrat so he's helping them stir up enthusiasm and they're helping him get reelected.

Iowa is suffering voter apathy from both parties looking at the numbers

but I also blame Iowa GOTV if it flips since Trump's team was living there for nine months stirring the pot while Hillary's didn't arrive until later
