I think you need exposure/longevity outside of radio to make it through those (approximately) 8 weeks

Gagz was hella overexposed by the time Marry the Night was released. Nothing was going to save it. Such a shame because the song deserved to smash. At least it can call itself a Top 40 hit.

It's a shame how no one makes good Christmas music anymore. It's the best holiday of the year. There's so much money to be made with creating a classic song everyone just sticks with the songs from the 40s-60s (unless you wrote Last Christmas or All I Want for Christmas is You).
