During the past decade she's only had one really big hit (beautiful). Since then her chart record has not been good at all.
I was reading my billboard book last night and was surprised to see that song only spent 1 week at #2. Her stans make it out to be a bigger hit than "I Will Always Love You"
and what about "Lady Marmalade", "What a Girl Wants" and "Come On Over..." they all were #1 hits and LM spent 5 weeks @ #1 COV 4 weeks.
"I Turn To You" was a Top 3 hit too
I hope she can recover, but i agree NMT got old fast i only heard it like 5 times...
They were all really big hits, but I overlooked them because we all know how big she was with her debut. Also, I referenced the past decade as in from the beginning of the Stripped era. People often make out that she peaked with Stripped, but its charts success tends to be exaggerated. Including her features, beginning with dirrty only 3 of her 13 singles have gone top ten. She had four top 3 hits on her debut album alone... When you take everything into perspective it's not that surprising that NMT is underperforming.
. I love Taio but I want him to release DP.
