I think they're sorta doing better than everyone expected. Not even they were anticipating any sort of #1 and Suho basically gave them the "you could flop" talk when he told them to just "have fun and not worry about the charts"
The M/V is looking like it's gonna beat Monster's 24 hour views too by a nice lead. From now on, I hope SM holds off on the Chinese versions on day 1 bc it splits their views. It it keeps gaining the way it is, it could have 5M-6.6M views tomorrow

I'm not gonna bother researching it again to find direct quotes, cause I've done that at least twice before in this thread and everybody pretends that they've forgotten it the next time they wanna call her a racist, so I'll paraphrase.
Taeyeon said something like "this black friend is pretty".
Koreans didn't care about it.
It was mistranslated into "pretty for a black person".
It blew up internationally, and Korean media reported that Intl fans were making a fuss because Taeyeon said that Alicia was "pretty for a black person", without cross-checking with the Korean source first, which would've told them that she actually said "this black friend is pretty".
I'll bookmark this post for the next time someone decides to pull the 'Taeyeon is a racist' card, cause I'm sure that will be some time in the near future.
