I'm not into all that Black Lives Matter, #OscarsSoWhite mumbo jumbo but let's not be disingenuous. There is a difference in being proud to come from a culture that has been oppressed throughout history and had to fight for rights and access to things the dominant culture was already given. You're not stupid so I don't understand why you're trying to go down this road. You sound like a straight person asking why we don't have a Straight Pride parade.
Yeah, it kinda sucks being white in today's liberal media eyes (not in the real world though, where they are making more money, getting better jobs, etc.).
They kinda deserve all the hate they get though (Trump & his supporters being a perfect example).
Well, you know how white folks are, 'if they can be proud of their race, skin colour, so why can't we?' Someone was legit mad that the acronym POC exists, making them exclusive or sth.
This half-Asian girl in my class said 'White is a color too, you know?' as if the term wasn't created by White people to create discrimination.
Black/PoC pride can be stupid in certain contexts but white pride can be and has been dangerous/fatal more than once throughout history. They're not the same.
Honestly, this is so boring,you guys should go back to joking about britney's mental health and drug problems; apparently no one is claiming to be offended by that or blowing it way out of context !!!!!
Also - when you've been told over and over again that being black/a minority automatically makes you inferior, then yes, it's a different situation from being proud to be white.
