Paul Ryan is a highkey mess and so much from the 2012 run would be brought up again if he ran this time.



I do think Kasich would have given Hillary the most trouble. He's the most level headed of the republicans that ran in the primaries and isn't crazy conservative like Cruz was. Because of this, the GOP chose Rubio as their poster child since he could be passed off as more conservative but didn't do enough to help Cruz or Kasich once it was apparent Rubio couldn't win.

I also agree that Hillary is doing pretty good at having the base energized. She struggled in the beginning of her campaign but she's one of the most prolific politicians to never be president at this point and the idea of her becoming the first woman president is exciting to TONS. Booker and Castro, though charming, aren't as exciting in general, and Warren and Sanders would have issues in the GP reaching out to the right.

And this is kind of the point. The "sane" Republicans - Kasich, Rubio & Scott Walker all failed. Miserably. Because nobody wants that. They want crazy, which is why Cruz came in 2nd after Trump. So why everyone thinks people who failed in the primaries would've rocked the general is beyond me.

I think it's a mixed bag. A "crazy" candidate would have a tougher time than a "sane" one in the GE. Definitely would've attracted more moderates and undecided as oppose to pushing them away.

Yet at the same time there's that base that wouldn't be okay with just a "sane" one.

Girl, I don't care about Obama or any politician like that. He's funny and all, but politics is politics, I've called him out on his shaky stance on Israel aggression, some messy portions of Obamacare, and other things. These people don't pay me to be their mouth piece. The **** reason would I have to be attached to a politician like you are to Hillary?

I was raised in Idaho, a red state through and through and now I'm in school in Texas. If anything my inclination is to lean away from a majority of his policies just due to my immediate influences, but as a college educated person, I also have to reflect on why he, as president, thinks his choices are the best course of action.

And while he's been in some mess, which Hillary as SoS exacerbated, the US is in a better place than it was before he took office (unless you want to delusionally argue otherwise). And that's my only metric for his presidency. The tangible RESULTS of his choices. Why ever "stan" for a politician?
