She never was a big first week seller anyway, Unapologetic did 238k in 2012 (her highest FWS) so....taking all these factors into account she did great. |
Apple wasn't going to promote that album after she gave Samsung that exclusive. You can't really blame them. She slayed the singles though. I hope she has seen from this experience that she needs to just release her album traditionally (no deals) and let things fall the way they do with each single she releases. Not to mention the messy fact that she scrapped three singles that were supposed to be on the album. She should've just added them to the Deluxe version tbh.
You're right that she never really opens big, and compared to the sales of others she's doing respectable.
