Yes, that's true but Alicia Keys has a fanbase that will buy her album on her name alone. Christina used her fan's save on B2B. Rated R debuted at #4 with a top 10 single. So what does that say about how Christina's album is going to do being that she doesn't even have a top 10?

Rihanna's new album isn't flopping, but it's highly underperforming.
She had a HUGE era before this album that made her a huge popstar and got her a established fanbase. Everyone thought she'd have a straight #1 album and a single and the only thing she got was a #1 hit which is the closest she gets to "Good Girl Gone Bad" sound and that will probably remain the album's biggest hit.

For a mainstream pop artist, that is usually the case. Your singles must sell or else your album won't.

Mostly thanks to "Lil Freak" which is his best single since "Yeah!", but that "OMG" thing is generic trash, one of his worst songs. The album is just OK.

He got that #1 era cause all of the fans he gained during the "Confessions" era haven't left, even though a huge part of them have. He needs to work harder on his next album to keep the ones that haven't left him.

You are being negative. Why conveniently point out all of the flaws in NMT now that it's falling on itunes? It's just of a matter of standing by your opinion instead of flip flopping all the time. You guys let other things sland your view. That's what I hate about Christina fans, they don't have a mind of their own. I may be positive at all times but that's because I pretty much love everything Christina does. I don't let chart positions alter my opinion because at the end of the day I'm here for her and her music and what I like.

I loved Stripped the second it came out but I can assure you half of this board hated it and said it would flop because she came on too strong with her image and "wasn't promoting enough" (sound familiar?) and a year later the album is one of the biggest sellers. Why? Because it needed time to resonate with the audience, the same way NMT needs time to resonate with the audience. It's only been 2 weeks and we have no promo. Just give it time.
