People still pretending they don't know how these deals work I see, this is advertising for Amazon. They have done it with gaga before and other artists. They make a loss (or just not much profit) to advertise their service. Massive price cuts are part of amazon's business model, they lose money in some areas but gain it in others.

I imagine interscope had to ok this and would probably have insisted it be sold above the minimum price for it to count in the charts but this won't have been interscopes idea to do this and certainly not Gaga's or her teams.

It's also unlikely to make a huge difference to her debut numbers either unless there is a mad rush to buy it like there was with BTW, i don't see that happening.

It's not even like gaga is not selling music on Amazon and other services at full price right now. There is literally nothing to drag her about here.
