If people actually believed this, we wouldn't have daily discussions about how Lemonade doesn't deserve a 92 on MC. That kind of talk, which doesn't occur regarding ATRL polls, puts MC on a pedestal, whether intentioned or not.

It seems more to me that people are upset their favorite artist isn't as acclaimed as Beyoncé by respected music publications and just throw out the "all opinions are equal" argument as a cover. Someone who really doesn't care about MC just wouldn't talk about it.

I remember her saying she was inspired by The Weeknd earlier this year and this is probably the closest she's come to replicating his sound. Mispronounciations aside, it's the definition of underrated.

The thing with opinions is that they weigh differently based on circumstance.

To use an extreme example:
There are many ways for politicians to handle foreign policy. But we give more credence to Hillary or the POTUS's opinion on how to deal with other countries than someone like Trump who has never held public office. Trump may be 100% right in his assessment and could bring about world peace, but he lacks the formal "experience". His circumstance largly precludes his opinion from the argument cause of our bias to experience, authority, and tradition.
