I don't think a lot of you know what exactly key change or modulation is; she may be singing the melody line an octave higher, but she's still singing in the same key.
So far, she only has 2 songs with key changes, FOHL and PI, if I'm not mistaken.
When I first listened to BTW, I actually tried so hard to like the album. It wasn't my cup of tea back then (but it grew so much on me now and its her best album ever)
Same with ARTPOP I TRIED SO DAMN HARD to digest that album and listened to is million times to like it. But still a cute album though
But with Joanne, oh my god, when I listened from start to finish. I'm not even lying. It was natural. I didn't have to force myself to love it just cause I love Gaga. I genuinely LOVED it instantly
I should clarify it's ok to like music like artpop more, it's fun in its messy old way and some people just like dance music more. but not being able to recognise that this is a much better album in terms of quality of song writing, production, concept and even vocals only makes you look bad.
In all honesty, I would normally prefer 'dance music' but I can't deny that Joanne ***** all over ARTPOP. There is just a beauty and sense of quality to every song, the production, every lyric. I have yet to decide if it tops BTW as my favourite album. It is definitely close.
SP felt so much more...dark live that I was kinda disappointed when I first heard the studio version. I listened to studio version again this morning and wow, it sounded so good. I love how well she slayed the Americana/country influences on this album. What a versatile legend.
