Perfect Illusion comes off 1000x better when you listen to it in context of the album. Someone else on another forum said it seems like an event during the album and that's about the best way I can describe it.
It's not at all the high point of the album but it really helps with the pacing.
It should literally be Million Reasons/Angel Down, A-Yo/Dancing in Circles, then Diamond Heart to end the era while she's on tour. If Interscope can't see this then I hope Gaga signs with a different label after this because it couldnt be more obvious

I wish I was someone that didn't listen to Perfect Illusion before and didn't know it was the lead single, to see how I would react to listening to the song for the first time in the context of the album.
If there was ever a pop release that needed to be a surprise, listen-to-it-all-at-once it's Joanne.
That and the documentary on the same day would have snatched lives and Perfect Illusion would be getting the respect it deserves.
That would have been ideal, but would the NFL have allowed it? The "insider" rumors indicated that they had significant influence over the release date; apparently the album would have been out weeks ago if not for them.
