I guess I see it. It's more cohesive than I expected, and I don't think I like it very much. DiC, the best song on the album, is the most different from them (albeit probably the most mainstream-friendly if not for the lyrics), and I wish she'd branched out more into some things like that.

Oh, well. Mediocre.

I'll give it a 6/10 overall.

I mean, no one's really that surprised that half of ATRL loves the album and half of ATRL hates it. It's a pop album that barely has any dance influence, uses real instruments, and leans closer to rock than any of Gaga's past albums. On top of the fact that Gaga has long been a punching bag for ATRL because of her last album underperforming and Perfect Illusion outright flopping.

A few people will hop on the bandwagon once the critic reviews come in.

I legitimately like the album and I'm not forcing myself to like I had to with PI when it first came out (that song has since grown on me, though). It's real, it's raw, it's different, and it's something that a lot of her peers wouldn't dare attempt. IDK about other Gaga fans.

I don't do x/5 or x/10 ratings, but here's an updated ranking. I'm not sure how different it is from what I posted a few hours ago. The album is still very fresh so, again, this is bound to change but what I'm thinking at the moment:

I just cannot relate to Joanne at all. The lyrics are so not relatable and just mediocre in general. The verses are also so messy, along with the transition from the verses to the chorus on many songs. A lot of the songs on Joanne sound like 2 huge ideas or melodies put into one song which just ruins the flow. Country music is supposed to be relatable, sweet and smooth. Like Taylor's Red or Speak Now.

That's why I'm relying on the HQ beats and trying my best to stay hopeful.
