Not necessarily... If you are a big name then your songs don't have to be amazing in order to be played/purchased. Often the music industry is all about momentum, having a big hit makes it easier to have another one. With Christina she almost has to start again from scratch with each new record, on top of that she has not had a huge hit in years. She has only had two minor hits since the Stripped era (ANOM and KGB).

I feel that Not Myself Tonight have MUCH higher quality to be left off as a buzz-single. Remember when 'Stripped' underperformed in the US despite having a complete 180-degree marketing of her image in the music video? Yes, so far. This era has been doing amazing so far by her standards. Now, she needs a banging music video to sustain the sales WW and a solid follow-up to help propel the album sales to a decent total.

The writing is officially on the wall for this single. It has completely flatlined on radio and it will be out of the top 10 on Itunes by the end of the day. She is doing zero promo for this song likely until the album's release and by then this horrible song will be out of everybodys mind and off the charts.

She deserves everything she got, she picked a horrible single (her worst song to date) and didn't promote it. If she thinks a few appearances and performances of this song are going to help it then she and her fans have another thing coming.

I see a top 20 peak on the hot 100 followed by a quick drop off the charts. Another flop.

I agree. She's got everything under her hands. Hype. And. Anticipation. The mishandled decision of putting 'Not Myself Tonight' as the album's carrier single was a disappointment to the ex-fans who decided to give her a chance one more time. But I still believe it's not too late. Curios of what 'Glam' sounds like? I am.

i agree with nodoubt in the sense that it wont do too well in the US, but i think it will be big, in the UK especially. I see it debuting at number 1 here so long as there is a little promo and the vid is out a couple of weeks before.

Not to be mean but going to #1 there doesn't mean very much. Old covers from the 30's go to #1 there and Rick Ashley could probably hit the top if he released a new one
