I agree that performances aren't necessary but the complaint here is that they're removing PI from radio without replacing it with another song, so we're not even getting radio.
The James Arthur song is in the same lane as MR and it's #1 in the UK and Australia right now with a massive lead. It wouldn't flop worldwide.
He is a local artist so people support him, with a familiar accent. Also simon cowell does the most promoting him. Uk and Australia basically support any male singing a sad song on a guitar
