Speaking as someone who has a lot of his maternal family in the Maghreb, The Libyans really wanted Gaddaffi dead. He was trash. Unfortunately, Muslims are for the large part uneducated and misguided and lot of my relatives agree. Look at Morocco this month; despite being one of the most liberal countries in the Arab world, they picked a right-wing Islamist party over a left-wing one. They just cannot help themselves. There's not much America can do. The Arab Spring gave many of these countries a chance to move forward but they blew it by fleeing to right-wing Islamic regimes.
