Absolutely not. I see it every time she speaks these days. It's like she's struggling with her own morality and her beliefs as a republican. You know what's so exciting about this election? Virginia is starting to officially be a BLUE state and not purple anymore. That's big for Democrats moving forward. Republicans better do something because conservatism will be the fading stance by large margins once minorities become the majority in 2 or 3 more decades. Some states are trending red, like Pennsylvania and Ohio, so I wouldn't be so quick to spell doom on the GOP's electoral college chances, as much as I'd like that to be the case.

I would disagree about Pennsylvania. It briefly looked like it could go red this year, but the latest polls have had Hillary up by high single digits or even double digits and that even before the tape. With Philly and the suburbs I think it'll stay blue for a long time outside of a wave election.

Ohio, Iowa and Wisconsin have all been trending red this cycle, though, but we'll see if that's just down to Trump or if it's a permanent shift.

Anyone think due to the (at the moment) in built advantage of the Electoral College for the Democrats, that the Republicans will try and change it for the next cycle? Maybe to a congressional electoral system like ME and NE? I was reading it could be a possibility for them to try and get back the WH

Believe it or not, Republicans actually have their own advantages built into the system - for example tiny states having three electoral votes by default meaning a vote from someone in Wyoming is worth a lot more than someone from California. I think it would be way too much hassle to change the system for every state. Especially as Republicans are all about states rights, on principle they won't want the federal government to tell states how they should apportion their votes. I suppose Republican-controlled states could try changing the way they give out their electoral votes, but that would probably only help the Democrats if they can pick up a vote as they sometimes do in Nebraska.

A problem with the congressional system is that it encourages even more gerrymandering. It would be awful.

I'd actually agree with radiance. Pennsylvania is one of those states I feel is trending more republican. Until very recently (2015) we had a republican governor for a long time and most of our state congress is still republican controlled. He had chances with the Philadelphia suburbs (from the lack of education and diversity). Blame the west part of this state who is pro fracking and don't like the regulations that Obama put it and Hillary promises to expand upon

But then we have Trump being...well Trump and absolutely murdering his chances here . It definitely won't be even close to competitive this year. Will have to wait until 2020
