Higher is one of the worst songs on Emotion Side B.

It's not that it's bad, but Carlegend is such a talented songwriter that the stuff she didn't write (or primarily write) is among the weakest in her discography. Higher, Good Time, Beautiful, LA Hallucinations...

HM still managed to sell 500k worldwide, which most girls, especially artists that don't make music with mainstream appeal, can only dream of.

Streaming is an important factor to consider. Lana is one of the most streamed female artists on the platform, next to Beyonce, Rihanna, and Katy. Gaga simply isn't in that league.

Sales matter less and less now. Streaming is a true, on demand indication of how popular an artist is.

There's no need to come for Taylor or Beyoncé, and Rihanna and Katy aren't on Gaga's level. Gaga doesn't need to give away a million copies of her album to go platinum, and she's got talent, respect and Grammys
