Gaga's case reminds me of Linkin Park and other bands who have dared to evolve as artist and in sound. Loads of people still lose their panties over the fact those acts actually do what they like and these fans/people are stuck in the past and keep rambling about the same 'alienating' story over and over again, yet most of those acts have a pretty strong core fanbase and still can tour greatly and keep doing that, because those acts are able to evolve. Without it they would get bored and fade.
Ever since Gaga stepped into the scene and loads of her demo's leaked, there was a clear sign that The Fame was not her peak artistically and that her rise to stardom with the The Fame sound was an amazing moment for pop, but also a 'phase' of her as artist. Loads of the people who complain, also would have complained would she had released some pop song with some tropical house beatdrop or i she would have rehashed the sound of her previous album or whatever
No offense, people can have their opinion and people can judge whatever they want, but at some point it should be enough to move on and wait for the next era or in this case the full album before jumping a certain bandwagon,
