It sold 2.5 million in the US and 6 million worldwide. Not to mention the lead single was a massive, global #1 smash. It was a hit.

Yeah BTW sold 1/3 of its global total in its first week and was a decrease of 60% from her previous album. It produced no hits with longevity and no classics. Tour was cancelled halfway through (I don't care why). It was not an outright flop but it was the beginning of the end

She obviously does, it's probably the type of music she wanted to make for a while. But they've still strategically steered clear from a girly sound, and that's cool, she's always been a sexy tomboy deep down IMO.

The reason matters, though. The tour was doing very well. You can't say it wasn't successful because Gaga suffered a medical emergency towards the end of it.

BTW was frontloaded but it was a hit. Period.

Also TF(M) era(s) was extremely complicated, but it was roughly 7 million for The Fame, 8 million for TFM, so 6 million for BTW was on par with those.
