I think Gaga was smart for not promoting this right after its release. The song is polarizing and performing it everywhere will just make Gaga look like she's force feeding it. She's letting the song grow first to some people and when the TV promo starts kicking in, it can easily be digested.
Lets be honest if Gaga was thinking like you're suggesting she wouldn't have released a song as polarising.
