a lot of her first album is written by herself , yes. she's the solo writer of her first song Everybody, Burning Up, I know It, Think Of Me, Physical Attraction, Lucky star.. so that's 5 songs out of 8. She writes a lot and mostly gets her help when it comes to production, and even then, it's just one or two people. I could go on about every album here.. she's VERY involved especially as a songwriter.
but no she is no prince who writes, composes & produces it all on her own. but shes had plenty of albums where most of the songs are written & produced by herself and just one other person
She was totally tabloid fodder, her (great) album was over-looked.
