I mean it's not the end of the world by any means, but I was excited to see how the deluxe would differ.

Although on the other hand I will say if she definitely isn't doing a different cover for deluxe I'll take it as a blessing as I really love the cover and would worry how the deluxe would look different (I heard rumours that it could be black and white which would completely take away what makes the cover so great imo).

Same here. The Fame/Monster, Born This Way and ARTPOP were all thoroughly enjoyable for me and she never fails to create music that I obsess over and connect with. It will be a refreshing experience to not worry about how everyone else perceives it.
I really think the streaming era has killed charting anyway - the quality of #1 songs seems to have sharply dropped as soon as the rules switched.

Has Gaga confirmed whether or not Blood/Kevin are on the album besides PI? I saw someone say that they weren't but that was from just listening to the songs at the party and not actually seeing a producers list. BloodPop seems like he is very enthusiastic about the album so I guess he's on it more.

Bloodpop posted the pic of her mixing it before the album title was announced. Kevin only on PI I think.

I'm happy with the direction she took, she seems super happy working with Mark, and I'm pretty sure this will be her best album. I just wish she created this album 2 albums down the line rather than now. It all seems a bit defeatist at this point in her career.

I know what you mean tbh. I wish this was the album she released after Born This Way.
I LOVE Artpop and it's what made me a stan but I feel like releasing an album like Joanne right after Artpop is a little anti climatic and a tiny bit defeatist...as if she "caved in" to public pressure to become more "normal". Although we, as stans, all know this is the album SHE actually wanted to make all along but we cannot take away the idea that the GP thinks she is toning things down because of all the backlash she suffered. They feel like they "won".

In my opinion, it would have just been so great for her to have one last hurrah. Gaga and her team doing mass promotion putting her everywhere. Releasing an album like Joanne after the BTW era would have been such a great **** you.

I don't blame her for not doing it, though. ARTPOP really burnt out her passion for music in general after executives/managers were using her. She was fed up of her creativity being on the backburner, and now it's 100% in the front, for better and for worst. It's still shocking to me that she had less than a week to come up with the whole concept of the DWUW video while doing promo in the UK.

Her label milked and burnt her out and her fan base (at the time) were not giving her an easy time either. She had pressure from both the label and the fans and she could not deliver what the fans wanted nor could she deliver what the label wanted and needed out of her. So I 100% understand why she is doing what she is doing now. She is taking such a grass-root approach to this record which is amazing...on a sonic level... but like you said I do miss a bit of the grandiosity of what Gaga is. I'm not complaining about the music itself as I LOVE Perfect Illusion..im just talking about her demeanor and promo etc...I wish she really went at it again with that huge fierceness in her eyes and ambitious soul. Just wish she gave us one last big "hurrah! I'm here betches!" which she could serve if the Superbowl stuff is real I guess

Nothing from either of them. She was only working with Nile on that Chic album that'll probably never see the light of day, I believe someone said.

It seemed to be Mark produced the entire thing with random co-production from Beck, FJM, and Kevin Parker one track each. Bloodpop apparently was more of a tech guy mixing and fixing things up with her to make it a bit more digital.

And the RedOne track is just a piano worktape so he probably didn't actually produce anything on the album, and his credit on Angel Down is lyrical or melody or for some idea he suggested.

So, if the tracklist and cover were released, and the album was finished a week ago, will the pre-order on iTunes be released with lengths? Because I'm always curious of them.
