This whole thing just got way out of hand. She was hyping this up to be something that was going to change the music landscape as we know it and her fans just added more and more fuel to the fire. If anything, her fans really did her disservice by opening their big mouths and adding more hype to this and in turn people turned out to be extremely disappointed. We won't even go there with those viral videos.
BUT
She could have used the initial hype of this project combined with the hype of those viral videos (even though it wasn't her) and used to it her advantage if only she had release something somewhat edgy and different (well thats what she is claiming the album has on it).
We all know whats going to happen though. Once this underperforms, her team and her lame fans will just say she is trying to do a Stripped, and put out a bad single first so they could really show off for the 2nd single. God how ridiculous
I already know how this entire thing is going to play out. .

The excuses are already pouring in. "Wait till it's released on iTunes!!!1111!!"
As if Christina has ever had strong iTunes sales. Considering that the general consensus is that this song sucks, I highly doubt this song is going to be a massive digital seller. Even with a decent video this song will still tank. The song is just tuneless. Single Ladies, 3 and Bad Romance were not earth shatteringly good, but the songs still had catchy hooks which got stuck in your head- therefore making them hits. I can't believe Christina fans still think this will set the charts on fire around the world.
She really could have come back and slayed all those other girls. She had the hype, people were ready for someone to upstage Gaga and she'd been gone for ages.
Wow, her team really dropped the ball. The image for this new era is very cliché, boring and all done before. From the very ugly album cover (speaking of the album cover, may I please direct you to this article:
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/click...ent_album.html ) which her fans described as iconic, unique and never been done before, to the very boring and generic lead single and single cover. Christina's manager said that this record will 'break new grounds'. If that's the case then why did Christina have to rush out a generic club banger at the last minute? Is it because the rest of the album doesn't have any good songs? I think so. Her image for this record and the sound of the lead single sounds like everything every other female artist was doing 3 years ago.
YAWN.
