I was expecting something totally different. I'd rank it as her worst album sonically and one of her best lyrically. So I'm really contrived about what to think tbh. I would rather just wait and give it 10 more listens though because I can't really form a concrete opinion since some songs may or may not grown on me.
Yeah something special is definitely in the deluxe edition. Not even born this way with its TWO disc edition was that much. She must have something visual prepared or more songs than she admitted on beats 1. Like someone said, not even lemonade is that expensive.
Likewise I thought ARTPOP was her best album until I realised I had stopped listening to it after a while.
Born This Way I loved instantly and still do. Not all of it, but the majority of. Who knows what Joanne will do. Scary tbh.
yeah I loved Half of BTW instantly and then I remember 1 year later finding new love for the record, like I used to fall in love in every song over and over again in 2012-2013 it was so great
ARTPOP I liked instantly and yeah ... I got tired of it quickly.
How about y'all just let this album happen and stop having meltdowns over it

I think we can compare this situation to what happened to Lana del Rey. The transition from Born to Die/Paradise to Ultraviolence wasn't supported by the fan base and her sound changed drastically. It's the direction the artist wants, and not what fans want for the artist.
Ultraviolence is one of my favorite albums, it's miles better than BTD
