it's like when you're playing an RPG you get the default sword which is trash
but you drop a nice rare sword that you can equip later when you're high level
so you have a choice of spending money upgrading the default sword which is a waste of money and resources because it has no potential, or you save up the money and resources until you are able to use the rarer sword !
that's how I feel about wasting promo on PI put in my own nerd ass way
except that "trash" sword is only sword you will get when you come to the first boss. So if you want to win and pass the boss you will upgrade it.
