I always wonder if they really will happen again like we knew it. I still don't see that happening any time soon, people really seem to be over it for now and things are different. I mean social media and iTunes etc existed when pop girls Rihanna onwards debuted but these days hits feel more disposable than ever and people move on from fads and stuff even quicker than before. Like would another Lady Gaga be able to maintain interest for that long. Maybe I'm wrong, since Taylor managed her reign of terror in the media for the whole of 2015, but I don't know.

I want Zara Larsson to happen so bad though, she's so funny and I like her bops.

The problem is that Gaga obviously overanalyses everything she makes and she ruins it as a result. If she would leave stuff alone you can tell it would be much better. PI would have been really good if it weren't so loud/busy. If she had let the music actually speak it would be much more impactful but instead Gaga complicates it all.

I mean look how simple but brilliant Hold Up is, it's basically a looped sample with a bit of panache and Beyonce isn't overbearing on it. That is what Gaga needs.

Mostly language, yeah. I like to get into every aspect of a song. If I can't vibe with the lyrics, then I'll just take the instrumental of a song and listen to that on its own.

If I can't understand the language at all... welp... there's nothing to save it for me. And I'll just nab the instrumental if it's good.

I used to be like that but since then I slowly just appreciated the beats without lyrics, then with lyrics, and finally with romanization and translation

Some songs are sooooo beautiful and I will now listen to anything in any language because artists globally can produce great content

I think it'll happen differently. Social media has really changed how stars are born. I just think it takes investment + planning from record labels, and since they need money they will find a way to produce more stars. We are never going to enter a time where pop stars (and stars of other genres) just won't exist. If people keep signing to labels there will be a pop comeback eventually, and if indie people want fame/hits they will follow the groundwork laid by Chance the Rapper (mixtapes, streaming partnerships, high profile collabs, local stardom before they try to get national attention, etc.)
