Remember that Billboard DOES NOT use Mediabase for their airplay updates. They use a totally different company whose numbers we cannot see. So, when it's really close between songs, like "Need You Now" and "Rude Boy" this week, it's hard to say which one will top the other. They were about 2 million away from each other Mediabase. The other company, who has a slightly different panel, probably has "Rude Boy" barely over "Need You Now."

The affects for them would've been last week's Hot 100, not this week's. This week will showcase the affects for "When I Look At You" and "Make a Wave."

Also, those songs were almost already over anyway. So, Idol wouldn't really help them anyway. They might get maybe 5-15% higher digital sales, but that's not extremely significant.

^What do you mean by accurate? They have different panels, and both use the same methods, it's just Billboard has a difference of maybe two or three stations per format.

For example, if Billboard's has one more rhythmic station than Mediabase, that could've been the deciding factor between "Need You Now" or "Rude Boy" at number one.

Well, there really isn't an accurate. They are both accurate. It's just that Billboard may have more rhythmic stations on their panel than Mediabase does. They are both actually just estimates when it comes to AI. The only real surefire way to know all of the official numbers would be to track every station in the country. (Which is next to impossible, but it's a cool idea.)

one successful thing from an era doesn't mean she isn't flopping. Rude Boy may be a success but RR and Hard were disappointing and the album is still flopping.

RR was an international success. It didn't do well in the US, doesn't mean it flopped.
Hard sold over 1.5M copies in the US.
