Yea but it's easy to say "just leave!" but it's not so easy to put into practice when you've spent years of your life thinking you LOVE this artist and that they're your favourite artist, and now they're making music you don't get. It's like, you're torn, you want to stick by them, but you know you're lying to yourself if you continue to go along with it. That's what's so dangerous about stanning, it's not so easy to pull away (as the GP have done since 2011).
I mean I'm sure there are plenty of people still in this thread screaming "Perfect Illusion rocks!" but they know they hate it.

Lady Gaga owes you nothing. She's a mainstream pop artist who makes a specific type of music. You're not entitled or forced to like what she gives you. Nobody forces me to like the robopop ******** that Britney has been churning out for years. Nobody is forcing me to like the recycled and stale beats that artists like Katy and Justin use. I see people on here clamoring for the "old Gaga" to return.
"I haven't enjoyed what she's done since 2011 tbh." THEN LEAVE. Nobody in this world is forcing you to like the music or sit through this era. You'll spend better use of your time not complaining about her. You can't force her to make the music you want. NEWS FLASH ****ERS! The Gaga you saw with Poker Face or Bad Romance is never coming back.
Is it disappointing that PI is performing the way it is? Yes, but it's not a safe record at all. It's not a mainstream sound, and it features Gaga dipping her toes in a completely different genre of music. There were rumors for years that she was going to do a rock-inspired album. I don't know why some people on here are "shocked" to discover this album isn't THE FAME 2.0.
Last but not least, I just want to say some of you are so infuriating. You've claimed since 2012-2013 that you're done with her, but here you. You're still here critiquing her decisions, telling us all why she's made the wrong move, worked with the wrong producer. You aren't helping her. You aren't helping us. It's annoying.
I wish her the best, and I'll always keep her on my radar. I hope I like the new album. But i'm done worrying about this single and worrying about her future career. She'll either sink or swim. That's the business. I like that she wants to be edgy and not play it safe. It's a reason I've respected the woman for so long.
I'm not taking a break from here. I'm leaving for good. I regret ever joining this site back in 2011. It's such a toxic site. A solid majority of the people on here are catty and produce a toxic environment. I'm sick of pretending to enjoy it..
I'm going to watch the PI video on Tuesday and hopefully enjoy it. I'm not gonna worry about where the song peaks on Billboard. I'm going to then hear her new album next month and hopefully enjoy it.

I think there will always be a pop element to her music but maybe not in the 'Just Dance' and the 'Bad Romance' way. Those were monumental hits. We're also going into an age now where everything is streamed practically. The industry is changing.
Sorry, boy but Gaga should be the one worried about that. It's her career not yours. Or are you afraid that you are going to be bullied by the OGHs on ATRL? If that's the case you should evaluate your life completely and maybe close your ATRL account once and for all. The Monsters are more worried about her career than herself and Interscope. What's new? No, boy, I am not worried at all. I know its Gaga's career but we are just having a discussion on an online forum. If I was affraid to be bullied by some OGH, I would have left ATRL in november 2013.
I don't understand how you can feel betrayed/misconstrued about an artist 7 years into her career over ONE track.
PI sounds very Gaga to me. It's still Dance-Pop like The Fame but instead of 'going underground' and bringing those sounds to the commercial charts (which there'd be no point in doing as both clubs and charts sound alike right now) Gaga's instead condensed a disco-themed song with raw-rock elements into a 3 minute radio single.
