I'm just confused more than anything. On one hand, I get that she'a an artist and she wants to create unfiltered. But on the other hand, her actions say she wants success.

So I don't understand why she couldn't create one song, at least, that is both great, but also (somewhat) radio friendly/trendy. One song that could sell the album. It seems ridiculous to risk the success of the entire album because you refuse to compromise even an inch, on one song.

But it's all a moot point if she's truly over success.

All of this. She just needs a smash second single and I think Joanne will be fine. I see it getting acclaim based on the producers and features so as long as there is one smash to sell the album hopefully the album sales won't be too bad

Gaga's mainstream brand is kooky outfits and dance-pop. When she deviates from that, of course, people are going to be mad. Ultimately first and foremost, before Gaga is a musician to the GP, she is a product that they decide to invest in. The reasons why one might invest in her vary, but a lot of people invest in her because of her incredible dance-pop music which she did for 6 years straight.

People have the right to be upset that their favourite thing about a brand is disappearing. It's like someone being a hardcore fan of Nintendo for their video games and then Nintendo decides to make a frying pan. Is that Nintendo fan supposed to buy that frying pan when it has little appeal to them apart from the name of the brand?

The danger with a flop-lead is that it can be difficult if not impossible to recover the era afterwards, as radio and the GP lose interest. And considering the interest was already largely lost with her, and this was the single that needed to regain said interest, it's going to be a big task.

Hopefully PI pulls through though. I'm not going to count it out yet.

No, it's supposed to say that he doesn't like it then don't buy it or getting used to how it is and then move on with his life. Something clearly monsters are not willing to do.

This stan base certainly lives up to their internet fame. Cant even be happy their fave is releasing new music after 3 years because obviously worrying about smashing is whats on the forefront. You all really try it when you boast about her artistry to the other stans here yet most of you dont respect that yourselves.

Very true. I think the music video will surprise a lot of people though and do a good job at helping the song recover. Radio will keep building (z100 are already spinning it a healthy amount, as is KIIS). Sales will recover or stabilize in time. This might just not be a sales song, kind of like GYHAB was popular on radio but never matched in sales. And that's fine.

Why? Why would he move on when he has invested years into this brand? There is a consumer trust between the brand and the consumer, that is close to being broken. That's not his fault. He will leave eventually if he continues to not like the music. But there is a sadness to this for that consumer that he has to leave behind a brand they love.
