Yes and no. She doesn't have to trend chase, but she would need to release something that's not the exact polar opposite of what's people desire musically right now.
It reminds me of what Tony Robbins (life coach) always says:
"If you do the right thing at the wrong time, you'll get pain. If you do the right thing at the right time, you'll be rewarded". PI is an amazing song. But it's proving to be a terrible choice given the circumstances.
