Nah. I feel Gaga is more comparable to Paula Abdul (without the classics such as Straight Up and Rush, Rush of course) I feel like Avril was bigger than Gaga in her heyday, I remember how huge Avril was when I was a kid.

Cyndi Lauper I feel she's kinda a bit more iconic than Gaga but that's subjective I guess...

Cyndi Lauper only feels small compared to Madonna but she has huge classics that are still iconic today and more listened to than any Madonna song from the period (just look at the views on youtube). Gaga's big hits already sound dated 5 years later.

People don't buy bad songs. It has little appeal outside of her core fanbase. Doesn't matter how long she's been gone. It doesn't mean that her star is fading; it means she released something that didn't click. Simple.
