Dd;
I was hoping this to be in top 20 but it's #31. So shame that it's lower than what I expected.
Hoping it to go higher and higher in every day.

Our girl is determined, though. She will get it.

She deserves a lot of things I honestly think this time around she's just chilling. Loves to just sit down to jam with the people she met along the way and her older friends. I would like to see her perform this song on the TV but that would be for just my own selfish reasons

Maybe in time. But maybe it won't happen. At least we've been able to shout to a new Gaga song and stomp all over the house while doing so.

I don't know but I don't see Gaga anymore performing at TV shows and that. The radio interviews feel right because she just explains the concept but I don't see her performing at TV shows.

I'm slightly confused what Gaga and Bobby plan to do with PI.
Why did they film the video so late? Particularly in an era of debuting videos alongside the music. Or at least having a lyric video ready. Why did they seemingly plan to not support PI much in its debut? This single was so important to the campaign, and they must've known it'd be a risk.
Did they assume the song would debut strong and not need the boost of video or performances for a few weeks?
I get Gaga's disinterest of the charts, but Bobby has been so 'on it' that it makes you wonder if there IS a plan that as of now isn't obvious.
I'm also confused by the album release date. Seems weird to drop it (presumably) inbetween the first and second singles.

I have a feeling she will release another album in 2017.

I don't think they thought Perfect Illusion would be an instant hit. And even if they assumed it would, there was still a risk it wouldn't, and Bobby is not dumb, he wouldn't have planned everything around PI becoming an instant hit. There must be plan and I'm sure it's a good one.

Wow her voice really is different on the Spotify version . In the chorus her voice is less shouty and more clear . I think she reuploaded this version

But yeah, what's weird to me is them dropping the album so close to Perfect Illusion that they have no time to release a 2nd single. Unless they release one a few weeks before, but it'd be in the middle of PI's run.

This. When the truth is they are not worthy of the song.

In case they release the 2nd single before the album, they can unplug PI on radio but still promote it on streaming channels. That way PI will hover around the lower part of the chart but still sort of co-existing with the 2nd single.

To be honest, Perfect Illusion is better than most Top 40 radio fans deserve.
And Joanne will likely be the same.
Good news is that this was probably the plan. This album is Gaga moving into a different lane of musical artistry. While the Top 40 junkies might not understand her, there are plenty of real music fans who will.

This single will last until the end of November. They're using it to promote the album, they don't really care if it's extremely successful in its own right as long as it does its job of getting the news out there that Lady Gaga is back, she's different and this is the new attitude.
I don't think they will push another single until November and try to make that a hit over Christmas which is a big risk, but she'll likely be promoting the album too so it'll benefit both.

True. The Top 40 songs are just tragic. Closer, Cold Water, Side to Side, We Don’t Talk Anymore? PI is a masterpiece and it deserves success but if it isn't the case it's ok considering what kind of songs are charting right now.

Ch okay with the music snobbery Perfect Illusion is still a damn pop song. It's not some avant-garde piece of musical genius. It's a good song, yes, but get off your high horse. Top 40 music is popular for a reason--it's often pretty good, fun and catchy. And Perfect Ilusion--get this!--it's about to debut in the top 20, and therefore is top 40 music.
Good lord I'm tired of people acting like they're sophisticated and "better" music fans just because they like Perfect Illusion. It's great imo, but you don't see me going around trashing everything else for being "basic." Give me a break.

Gaga stopped playing by the Top 40 rules somewhere during the Born This Way era and since then she was suffering getting backlash from the superficial Top 40 stans.
I think during this break she realized that she doesn't need to compete in this superficial world and just decided to make good music with quality artists that isn't necessarily aimed at quick #1.
Indeed, this is something that Lady Gaga has done many times before. Choosing legacy over momentary bliss. This is a mark of a true artist, like David Bowie or Prince who all went through similar transformations.

The thing is PI is so different from the Top 40 and that might be a problem for it. Most of the top 40 is trash and the top 10 right know makes me wanna puke. There's nothing pretty good, fun or catchy about it.

Well, that's your opinion. While I agree about some songs in the top ten, I think some are rather good. Perfect Illusion is different, yeah, but it's not so different that there's no chance of it being a hit. Which is proven by how well it's doing on radio and the fact that it's still in the itunes top ten.

I didn't say it doesn't have a change. Of course it has multiple chances. I just said that being different might be a problem.
