I liked the simplicity of the episode. Some of the scariest movies I've seen have a certain kind of simplicity, without going over the top and having too much going on at once. That was definitely a problem in Hotel, and the lack of simplicity made it campy and comical to me.

Lmfao @ some people fuming over the most refreshing exciting thing AHS has done since coven. The premiere was amazing and I'm way more intrigued for this season than I've probably ever been after a seasons 1st episode.

That it ends on a cliffhanger and then rolls a set cast (including people we haven't seen yet).

I had my damn hopes up too because Ryan just can't carry a full season of AHS to total excellence and this would've been the perfect solution.

Also, it's really silly that most of the teasers really were just pointless.

The story is interesting and I loved the atmosphere but every time those characters that tell the story showed up I cringed. Ryan you had to screw this almost perfect episode.
