Why is the rolling effect necesarry? I mean, that's how much the song gains in a day. Why do they have to substract how much it gained a week ago?
Spin numbers could dramatically fluctuate from day to day due to special occasions, weekend/weekday effects, etc. So, they average these out buy counting the spins on a rolling-seven-days basis.
