I honestly feel bad for Gaga...her team spent all that time rebuilding her image to the GP and nothing in return.

They rebuilt her image with older people... kids/teens/young adults don't care about the National Anthem at the Superbowl or a Julie Andrews tribute. I like Gaga, I really do, but the majority of the GP 30 and under have forgotten Gaga even exists. It's simply the truth. The artpop era blew over so fast that many haven't heard of Gaga since 2011.

TBQH I would've went with a full on dance track to remind people of why they liked her in the first place. An 80's inspired sound was never going o cut it in 2016.

Sales are the pits right now. A song needs to be extremely generic to sell huge amounts and click with the general public immediately after its release. If it doesn't, it will obviously do average numbers. Selling less than 100,000 copies during first week has now become a standard for pop girls.

We should wait and see how Perfect Illusion does after Gaga promotes it a bit. This week will be basically carried out by her fan base. People should stop falling in the same game some little monsters have in the past. Do not become what you were criticizing a couple of years ago.

Those who sell more than 100,000 copies are clearly exceeding standards, which is great. Why are you so defensive? I was in no way shading anybody here.

Selling less than 100k is NOT standard for anyone. Literally everybody else is debuting with more than that except for Gaga, Britney, and Christina. Ellie came back with less too, but "On My Mind" was bad and didn't deserve any more than what it got. And the songs Gaga and Britney came back were also lackluster as well.

But Katy, Ariana, Rihanna, Meghan & Beyoncé sold 110k+ during first week this year.

Rih would've done 200-250k with a full week, Bey would've likely done 200k+ had she released Formation on iTunes back in February.

Even Britney sold nearly 100k.

Sales are dropping hard and they will continue to do so. Why is it selling more than 90k first week a bad thing? Did you expect Gaga to sell the same amount she sold with Applause three years ago?
