I just can't stress it enough; Gaga could have done it. She could have broken through again and proven everyone wrong.
She had enough time away for the public to lose their previous misconceptions about her. She tore the house down on major award shows with her vastly improved vocals. She had radio and press backing her and even some disillusioned ex-fans began to once again see promise in her. It was 100% all down to this single for her to make a major comeback and she blew it.
The song is Not. Good. It's dead on arrival, and promotion/exposure may give it a quick boost, but the song is clearly not connecting.
I think what's happening to Gaga (besides doing mediocre music since 2013) is that she waited too much between releases and fell out of the GP eye: the same happened to Christina Aguilera from BTB - Bionic, Avril Lavigne from TBDT - Goodbye Lullaby and Nelly Furtado between Loose and that forgotten album from years ago, etc...
I just can't explain this absolute fall from grace.
this didn't apply to Adele tho. the long gap seemingly made the GP more hungry for her

Adele is always the exception to the rule, She literally can not lose it seems (genuinely). She honestly deserves the success as well. She just gets her head down and releases quality music that her massive fan base and GP expect from her and her infectious personality shines on her tours/interviews/performances etc.
